cannot understand all the commotion that’s going on with the alcohol ban. i drink, yes. and yes, it’s a policy i cannot fully agree with. but at the end of the day, i feel that it’s a good call.
let’s put things in a perspective i see. this ban sucks! but it’s going to solve a lot of social problems, and it’s going to allow a lot of things to move forward for a better cause. the list of problems related alcohol is long, simply too damn long.. it range from public cleanliness to family abuse to health. basically, if you can’t drink responsibly, don’t drink.
see, at the end of the day it isn’t the ban that people really have problem with. it’s a change which they will eventually be forced to accept that they cannot agree with. fundamentally, people hate changes they cannot control. looking back at chewing gum ban in Singapore. it cause such big commotion back then. looking back at it now, is our life any worse without chewing gums? well, i can’t say we are any worse. are we any better? that’s not for me to say. alcohol wise? will we get any worse as a society with this ban? i don’t think so. any better? yes, definitely.
law and law enforcement are two completely different thing which people need to understand.
One response to “change”
